The Mandatory Entry Level Training consists of 121.5 hours of standardized training. The total 121.5 hours will be divided between classroom, on yard training and one on one instruction in driving.
Classroom training involves daily written exercises and quizzes, followed by a midterm exam (1-5) and one final exam (1-10). Student are encouraged to take notes as it will be beneficial for studying.
The on yard training will be extensive with training sessions in; Coupling, uncoupling, pre-trip and air brake inspection, backing exercises, learning the names of different components on truck and trailer (anatomy).
You will receive training in multiple terrains; city driving two lane highways, four lane highways, steep hills and rolling countryside.
A key component will also be learning about the range selector and the splitter. Safe semi truck procedure and attentive driving skills will also be reviewed. All driving training will be one on one for optimum learning and practical knowledge for future careers.
